Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders in STEM
Access to quality science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education shouldn’t be determined by where you live. Kids all across the U.S. should be exposed to STEM. Not only is it important for the development of our youth, but it’s also important for our country’s future.
Our passion towards STEM education is the core driver of our initiatives with 4-H. As the nation’s premier youth development organization, they have a long history of leading innovative programs, and we are proud to support the work they are doing.
The 11th annual 4-H National Youth Science Day, supported in part by HughesNet, gives kids the opportunity to learn computer science with fun, hands-on activities. We’ll be celebrating National Youth Science Day and its theme, “Code Your World”, throughout the month of October and you can participate too!
This year’s National Youth Science Day four-part challenge teaches kids to apply computer science to the world around them through hands-on activities suited for teens and kids with little to no prior coding experience. National Youth Science Day gets youth excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and spotlights the many ways millions of youth are engaging in 4-H Science programs year-round.
4-H and HughesNet are proud to announce an online resource that provides fun, easy, and hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities to everyone! The 4-H STEM Lab is an online center where you can find some of the best STEM activities from top public universities and 4-H groups across the country. STEM Lab introduces kids to exciting activities through experiential learning. Build a robot, experience chemistry with fuzzy foam, or build a windmill with your kids and learn about STEM topics along the way.
Together, our organizations serve the same small, local communities across America. We are passionate about STEM education, building future leaders, and the role they will play in advancing our country’s competitiveness in the global economy. That’s what makes us natural partners in inspiring our next generation of scientists.
We’re investing at the local and regional levels to introduce youth to STEM education and to get them involved in hands-on science activities. From National Youth Science Day to HughesNet STEM Days at 4-H summer camps, we’re motivating 4-H kids, families, and alumni to support 4-H and their science education programs.
