There is no charge for standard relocation installation. You will be responsible for all non-standard installation charges.

There is a a required 24-month agreement and a $99 activation fee if you lease your equipment. If you purchased your equipment, there is a 24-month agreement with a $249 hardware fee and $199 installation fee.

If you are a Dish Recovery Act or Hughes Recovery Act customer, you waive your guaranteed five-year monthly service fee.

All Service Plans require a commitment of twenty-four (24) months. If you have subscribed to any Service Plan and you terminate service prior to the expiration of the commitment, you will owe, and your credit or debit card will be charged, the Early Termination Fees described below. In addition, unless you purchased the Hughesnet Equipment, you will be required to return the applicable Equipment to Hughes whenever you terminate your service, or you will be required to pay the Unreturned Equipment Fee described below.

Early Termination: Purchase Option (equipment and standard installation purchased upfront)

If you cancel after activation but before the end of your 24-month term commitment, you will be charged a Service Termination Fee of up to $400. The exact amount of the Service Termination Fee will be $400 for the first ninety (90) days after activation of the HughesNet Service. Thereafter, the amount will decrease by $15 per month for each month of active Service.

Early Termination: Lease Option 

If you cancel after activation but before the end of your 24-month term commitment, you will be charged a Service Termination Fee of up to $400. The exact amount of the Service Termination Fee will be $400 for the first ninety (90) days after activation of the Hughesnet Service. Thereafter, the amount will decrease by $15 per month for each month of active Service. Further, you must return your Hughesnet modem, power supply, and radio in good condition within 45 days of cancellation date or be charged a $300 Unreturned Equipment Fee ($100 for the modem and power supply and $200 for the radio transmitter).

If you cancel after the end of your 24-month term commitment, you must return your Hughesnet modem, power supply, and radio in good condition within 45 days of cancellation date or be charged a $300 Unreturned Equipment Fee ($100 for the modem and power supply and $200 for the radio transmitter).

For customers eligible or required to return equipment, Hughes will provide instructions on how to de-install and return the required equipment.

You are not required to return, and Hughes is not obligated to de-install the antenna, mount, or any cables. If you elect to have the complete system or the antenna, mount and any cables professionally de-installed, you will be responsible for all applicable de-installation charges. You will not receive a credit for installation charges or other fees.

Your service plan pricing will stay the same or be lowered to the current new customer offer in your area.

  1. Modem and power cord – You will bring these items to your new location with you. If you lease your modem from Hughes, you will continue to be billed monthly for the equipment.
  2. Satellite dish/radio transmitter – you will leave this at your existing location. The new occupants can also use the dish if they choose to start an account with Hughesnet. You will need to make a technician appointment to have a new satellite dish installed at the new location. You will make this appointment with the Customer Care agent at the same time you request your move. 

You specifically agree that any Equipment provided to you may be new or refurbished as new. Any refurbished Equipment will have the same warranty as new Equipment. If you choose to purchase your Equipment from Hughes, and the Equipment installed at your location is refurbished, in consideration of our provision of such refurbished Equipment, we will provide you with a $25 credit on your first Service invoice.

If you have leased the Hughesnet Equipment, you will continue to be billed for the leased Equipment. Should you discontinue Hughesnet service, you will be responsible for returning the leased modem, radio, and power supply in good condition within 45 days of cancellation.

Hughes’ Move Program is available to Hughesnet Residential customers with accounts in good standing. Your Site Account Number (SAN) and email addresses will remain unchanged.
