2016 Summer Intern Thaddeus Hughes Has Been Selected to Represent 4-H on PBS' Documentary American Graduate Day

We are thrilled to announce that 2016 summer intern Thaddeus Hughes has been selected to represent 4-H on PBS' documentary American Graduate Day. Thad is also the HughesNet sponsored 2016 4-H Youth-In-Action STEM pillar award winner.

Tune in on September 17, 2016 at 4:00pm to hear more about how Thad has helped mentor fellow youth in STEM.

American Graduate Day is returning for its 5th year on Saturday, September 17, 2016 streaming live from Tisch WNET Studios in NYC from 2pm-6pm ET and on public television stations across the country. Hosted by Soledad O'Brien, the four-hour national broadcast will celebrate the individuals and non-profit organizations dedicated to helping youth stay on track to high school graduation. American Graduate Day is the culminating event of Spotlight Education– a special week of primetime education-themed programming on PBS beginning September 12, 2016.

Celebrity guests and more than 25 nonprofit organizations across the country will be featured as partners for American Graduate Day, with guests including Gen. and Mrs. Colin Powell, Shaquille O’Neal, and Rachel Platten, and organizations including My Brother’s Keeper, the Sparkle Effect, Sesame Street® and the Ad Council.

This year’s broadcast will explore the power of mentorship through half-hour long segments on the following topics: Early Education, More and Better Learning, Special Needs Communities, STEAM, Dropout Prevention and Re-Engagement, and College and Career Readiness.
