It’s National Engineers Week! For over half a century, engineers have been powering everything we do here at Hughes, the company behind HughesNet. While we celebrate our engineers every day, this week we shine a light on our continued commitment to developing the next generation of engineers.
We’ve been working together with 4-H since 2014 in inspire the next generation of leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Our ongoing sponsorship includes 4-H at Home, an online library of FREE educational activities and resources for kids and teens to do at home. Check out the brand new space exploration interactive activity in honor of National Engineers Week – it’s the perfect project for the future engineer in your life. Students can participate in two different quests to learn more about what it takes to live and work in space.
We are proud to sponsor the 4-H Youth in Action STEM Pillar Award, recognizing young STEM leaders making an impact in their communities. Read our blogs about past winners Ava, Clyde, Thaddeus, Cassandra, Aidan and Joseph – and who knows, maybe there’s a future engineer in the bunch!
HughesNet satellite Internet service wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of world-class engineers. Did you know that half of Hughes employees have an Engineering or Computer Science degree? Our STEM Career Highlight series showcases engineers of all types, including a network support engineer, a systems engineer, a senior program manager, and a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) specialist.
We celebrate our engineers every day, but especially during National Engineers Week!
